Zanerobe was created in 2002 by Leith Testoni and Jonathan Yeo, two very different individuals with their own eclectic tastes. Their commonality was a passion and a vision for a design that was complimentary to both their styles. Originating from Sydney, Australia and sold locally in Australian boutiques the brand quickly grew to internationally-known boutiques and department stores. The name "Zanerobe" is absolutely related to the brand’s philosophy: "Zane" refers to strength, innovation and success while "Robe" refers to the willingness 'to wear'. Zanerobe was created with the idea a wardrobe should be based to instill confidence and instill a sense of confidence.

The line itself is entrenched in its own version of traditional street wear, with a non-conventional vintage theme.
