Obsessed with the look and quality of authentic vintage sport apparel from the 60s and 70s, creator of Aviator Nation, Paige Mycoskie set out to produce a garment line that would embody the true spirit of "vintage cool". She began by diligently researching early methods of screen printing and inking, while also considering the particular weaves and fibers used in decades past . Her research took her so far, in fact, that she managed to locate old-school sewing and finishing machines, that she eventually installed in her LA based manufacturing plant. Capable of reproducing the process in its entirety, even the stitchwork is done exactly as it was in the 70s. Mycoskie has taken the technical process one step further by developing an applique technique using single needle hand-stitches, thus giving each garment a one-of-a-kind effect.

Unlike other vintage-inspired brands focused primarily on recreating old rock-and-roll tees that have now saturated the market, Aviator Nation's promotion of love and well-being, coupled with its use of bright colours and fun-loving logos, has truly set it apart from the competition. Some are calling it retro, while others are calling it rad, but either way it’s obviously different, and hugely popular among those in-the-know.
