Anderson “The Spider” Silva Fighting in UFC 101!
It’s time yet again for another Ultimate Fighting Championship fight! This Saturday is the UFC 101 fight and one of the most anticipated fights is between Forest Griffin and one of our favorites, Anderson Silva!
The brazilian born MMA middleweight champion, who has been called the pound-for-pound king of martial arts is once again battling for the light heavyweight title and going up against Griffin, the winner of Ultimate Fighter season one. “The Spider” Silva currently holds the longest consecutive win streak in UFC history at nine. As if that were not enough, he has also tied the organization record for most consecutive title defenses at five, beating the likes of Dan Henderson, Rich Franklin, Patrick Cote and Thales Leites along the way.
While Silva is notoriously confident in his fighting, even he admits the importance of never letting up the hard work. In a recent interview, he said, ” I try to win through the mistakes of my opponents. It’s not interesting for me to expose myself and run unnecessary risks. I’m getting old and since I started fighting I never had a scratch or my face broken. Anyone who knows about fighting can see what I mean.”
