The online retail world is a volatile environment and only few last long enough to be considered titans of internet shopping. It is no secret that the economic downturn of the past decade has been negatively affecting many corporations, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise anymore when you hear about this company or that one having to close its doors.
Nevertheless, we’re still very sorry to hear that Metropark, the online retailer with seventy stores in the United States, has filed for bankruptcy and will be closing all of its doors.
And so it goes.

Celebrity Tweets, Jimmy Fallon, Katy Perry, Khloe Kardashian, Lance Armstrong, Lebron James, Lily Allen, Mike Tyson, Oprah Winfrey, Osama Bin Lade
Posted on May 2nd, 2011
Because what better way is there to mark the historical event of Osama Bin Laden’s death than to diminish its significance by stating what celebrities have to say on the matter, as they use the most inane social networking tool?
Katy Perry: “AMERICA F**K YEAH, HERE TO SAVE THE MOTHER F**KIN DAY YEAH! #necessaryusageoftheFbombday”
Khloe Kardashian: “Wow!! Ding dong the witch is dead! #osama”
Lance Armstrong: “USA USA USA!!”
Lebron James: “#WoW!! Obama words are earth moving and inspiring.”
Jimmy Fallon: “Got Bin Laden AND interrupted Celebrity Apprentice? Win for Obama all around.”
Mike Tyson: “Obama got rid of Osama!”
Lily Allen: “I know that Osama Bin Laden is dead, but if we could all stop for a minute to consider today’s REAL news I’d very much appreciate it. It is my birthday, I am 26.”
(Country singer) Blake Shelton: “Suck it #Osama if you don’t love the American flag, You can kiss my country ass”
Bill Maher: “Somali pirates, Gaddafi’s son, now bin Laden – do NOT fuck with Obama, he’s Gangsta!!”
Steve Martin: “Slow news day.”
(Alright, there are admittedly a few hilarious ones in there).

Carol Middleton, Chelsy Davy, David Beckham, Kate Middleton, Phillip Treacy, Pippa Middleton, Prince Harry, Princess Letizia, Princess Victoria, Royal Wedding, Sophie Winkleman, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Victoria Beckham, Zara Phillips
Posted on April 29th, 2011I may be incredibly exhausted as a result of my vigilant watching of the Royal Wedding, but a few extra cups of coffee this morning is well worth the visual spectacle I was witness to. Aside from the bride’s stunning gown, the guests in attendance of the wedding did not disappoint when it came to style- and particularly to hats.
While I had a rudimentary knowledge of Philip Treacy’s designs thanks to my love for Sarah Jessica Parker, this morning’s historic nuptials have forever solidified him in my mind. Only a few short hours ago I had no idea what a “fascinator” was, but now, given that the Irish-born couturier hat designer dressed nearly everyone in attendance of the event, I cannot get enough of them!
Here’s a collection of some of the most interesting outfits and headpieces from guests of the Royal Wedding!

Aruna Seth, Kate Middleton, Royal Wedding
Posted on April 28th, 2011
Two of the things I find most exciting right now- the Royal nuptials and fabulous heels- come together in the splendour that are shoes by Aruna Seth!
While most Royal wedding-watchers are intently focused on predicting what Kate’s dress will be, there is nearly as much excitement and conjecture circling about the shoes that she will wear. Everything the bride-to-be wears will have to be made by British designers, and one of the designers whose shoes Ms. Middleton is considering wearing on her soon-to-be-royal feet is Aruna Seth.
The elegant, yet fun and youthful styles of the brand’s shoes are a seemingly perfect match for Kate, whom many are saying has the same style and spirit as Princess Diana.
Head over to Aruna Seth’s website to check out her designs, or like her on Facebook!

David Beckham, Ellen DeGeneres, Polos, Project e Clothing
Posted on November 1st, 2010There are many sides to David Beckham.
On the one hand, the man is a very serious and committed athlete, rigorous in his training and incredibly skilled, while also a very devoted father, and a sharp and savvy businessman. On the other hand, Beckham is also one of the world’s biggest sex symbols (his body is riddled with tattoos), a wild party-goer, and a notorious Lothario; he is the definition of “bad-boy”. With so many different and opposing personality traits, its no wonder this superstar gravitates towards Project E‘s “preppy”- cum- “bad-ass” polo shirts.
Designed in opposition to the “Preppy Look” that took hold in the late 80s and early 90s, Project E‘s polos- with their distressed colouring, holes, and haphazard embroidery- were considered an ironic alternative to the traditional, color-saturated and highly starched polos being produced by designers like Ralph Lauren. Today, Project E continues to uphold its subversive look and appeal, winning over those celebs who are especially prone to towing the line between naughty and nice….with David Beckham at the helm.
For those of you not currently up-to-date on your Beckham news, the L.A. Galaxy star has been in the media quite a bit lately; perhaps, most notably, for scoring L.A.’s first goal during a Major League Soccer match against FC Dallas this past Sunday, which ultimately resulted in a 2-1 victory for L.A.. Now this is all well and good for you die-hard soccer fans out there, but for those of you who happen to be more interested in Beckham “the man” as opposed to Beckham “the soccer player”, you may be surprised to learn that our favorite athlete was recently rumored to have been caught cheating on wife Victoria Beckham with a high-priced call girl. This is obviously not the first sex-related allegation in this philanderer’s long history, but it certainly threw Hollywood into a tizzy over the possible dissolution of the couple’s 10-year long marriage. The verdict is still not out; but we don’t recommend holding your breath.
In other Beckham news, the star recently made an appearance on the Ellen Degeneres Show (can be viewed at perezhilton.com), where he aided in pranking an unsuspecting masseuse by excessively, and very suggestively, moaning while receiving a massage. He additionally asked the masseuse a series of ridiculous questions like, “Do I smell like Cheetos?” which were dictated to him by Ellen through a hidden earpiece. The audience members could hardly contain their laughter, but surprisingly, Beckham managed to keep a straight face throughout.
Conclusion? Keep towing that line Beck’s…..it’s definitely working in your favour ; )

Adrian Grenier, Bono, brad pitt, celebrity, GQ Magazine, Hollywood, How I Met Your Mother, hugh jackman, robert pattinson, travel
Posted on October 18th, 2010One of our newest brands, Ever, has been garnering considerable exposure lately, with GQ rating it one of the coolest brands currently on the market and appearing on several cast members of “How I Met Your Mother”, in recent episodes. Built for and branded as a “luxury travel brand”, the collection offers timeless, rustic, quality pieces, that require little care and get better with age, thus rendering it the optimal choice in travel apparel. Creator of Ever, Jason Bleick, lives the essence of the brand by constantly traveling to remote and distant places in search of inspiration, and living out of a tee-pee in Hollywood, which is situated in close proximity to the beach. With its cult-like celebrity following, Ever has resonated mostly with those celebs that proffer a cool, independent and aloof image, namely, Brad Pitt, Bono, Adrian Grenier, Robert Pattinson, and Hugh Jackman. With this kind of celeb-power backing the brand, it’s not the least bit surprising that Ever experienced record sales this year, while a number of its competitor brands were forced to go belly-up.

Posted on August 18th, 2010Fab Sugar, a lovely website whose aim is the same as that of this blog- to relate all the latest fashion-relevant news to the masses- had an inspired idea for back to school wardrobe looks: take a cue from everyone’s favorite dance movie, Dirty Dancing!
They share wardrobe ideas inspired by Baby’s different looks, from her innocent self when she first arrives on vacation, to the more sultry, dancer side to her once she meets (and falls in love with) Johnny!

My love for rap music loses its credibility when I do things like claim an attachment to 50 Cent… but it’s true, I love him, and shamelessly. Maybe it’s his pop-lyrics that tell our young generation to “have a baby by me, baby be a millionaire” or “shop for chinchillas, in the summer they cheaper”; or the fact that he has started beef with pretty much every rap phenom (except for the ones that could ruin his financial career, namely Jay-Z); or that G-Unit (both brand and rap group) was the product of his hard work and determination. Or maybe it’s that regardless of the criminal activity he raps about in his songs, he has also done his part to give back to his community by supporting school programs, community gardens, and made several charitable donations to prominent not-for profits, to the extent that the Mayor of Bridgeport, CT GAVE HIM THE KEYS TO THE CITY…
Whatever your thoughts are of Fiddy, he definitely has swagger, and looks good doing it (remember the In Da Club video?)
