I have a new Parisian blogger obsession and, coincidentally enough, she’s close friends with The Cherry Blossom Girl, my other french blogger crush! This is Louise, of the blog Pandora. Like her friend, she is a normal girl who dresses so fabulously that you begin to think that she must have a stylist, or be somehow famous. These things are not true, however. She is merely an impossibly chic art student living in Paris.

What’s special about her blog is that they are not just diary entries of her daily outfits, as so many other similar blogs are. Instead, she shows us her outfits and even styles some inspired by famous works of art!

While one post is more fabulous then the other, thus making it impossible for me to choose one to showcase and show all of you, there is one component to this particular post that convinced me: headbands.

In this post, Louise demonstrates the different outfits to wear with myriads of different glorious headbands. If you don’t read French, pay no attention to the words of the post- instead just delight in the lovely pictures!

  • As a moderate newbie in the world of fashion blogging, I like to turn to all the other great and established sites out there in the blogosphere to draw inspiration and see how it’s done!

Today, one blog that I am absolutely loving is College Fashion, a site which aims to bring fashion advice and news to the collegiate set.

Being unabashedly devoted to all things Disney, I was nothing short of excited to stumble upon CF’s article Fashion Inspiration: Walt Disney’s Cinderella, in which they take key outfits from the seminal Disney princess movie and suggest outfits that embody the same styles but through modernized clothes!

    Genius, I say.

If I wouldn’t be mocked mercilessly or shunned from society, I would spend every day dressed up as a different Disney princess (I have no problems wearing a purple clam bra on my day spent as Ariel). Now, however, I have some options on how to keep deluding myself into believing I actually am a princess, without having to wear childrens’ Halloween costumes every day of the year, which would subsequently frighten the world.

Here’s their take on how to dress up as everyone’s favorite house wench-turned princess, Cinderella!

They do the same concept for The Little Mermaid, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty as well.

    I know. I died.

Sea Otter Doesn't like Oil Spills

The situation with the Gulf Oil Spill just keeps getting more and more messy- and that’s not even counting the actual tangible oil that’s spilling into the Gulf of Mexico every second.

Last month, following the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill (otherwise known as the reason BP is the most hated corporation in the world right now) the Obama administration implemented a moratorium on any future deepwater drilling projects. Naturally, this upset folks in America’s oil-drilling industry. As a result, yesterday, a judge ruled against the President’s six-month drilling moratorium, claiming it was unjustified to halt the entire deepwater drilling industry because of BP’s mistakes. The government promised to appeal their moratorium because of the good judge’s proclamation.

There’s only one thing wrong with this situation: the judge in questions has shares in Transocean, the company that owned the Deepwater Horizon, the oil rig whose explosion caused the initial oil spill.

Upon discovering this, it was clear that the judge had a lot to gain from the moratorium being retracted, there was a definite conflict of interest, and he was sketchy as hell.

Needless to say, it’s being looked into, and the judge’s ruling might be overruled.

Oh the wonders of the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill!

For more pleasant and less disastrous news, turn to the people at KOR, who are actually doing something good for the environment and continually working towards providing aid for water related causes.

Almost a month and a half ago, the largest offshore oil spill in United States history occurred when a semi-submersible exploratory offshore drilling rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico. The April 20th debacle resulted not only in the loss of eleven lives, but in a massive oil spill that still threatens the coasts of the states of Florida, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Just yesterday, however, a breakthrough in the oil spill crisis has inspired hope that a solution for the disaster might be imminent. BP, the company responsible for the clean-up of the spill, succeeded in installing a device that stands to collect the oil that is still spewing out of Deepwater Horizon, the sunken oil rig. While the device will not plug the spill, it should contain it, and therefore initiate the reparations process.

In light of the latest development in the BP oil spill saga, here at Luello we would like to draw our readers’ attention to the Kor Hydration Vessels, one of our latest and most exciting products. These sustainable and reusable water bottles are revolutionizing the way we drink water, and are even working to improve the state of water in world as a whole. The company’s mission is to “Protect and Celebrate Water”, with Kor donating at least 1% of their sales to non-profit organizations that focus on water-related causes.

Following the BP oil spill, now more than ever it is important to emphasize the importance of clean and safe water, as the people at Kor, as well as everyone here at Luello, hope to do.

    Mohan Customs Tailor suit

    Mohan Customs Tailor suit

Everyone here at Luello is working hard to keep our readers apprised of the goings-on in the fashion world, whether it relates to our own products or not. This interesting new product incorporates technology, business-men and fashion in general, all of which are of interest to the Luello family since we’ve got all of those things over here at our headquarters (which is in a remote, undisclosed location. It’s almost as awesome as conducting a business from a submarine just off Greenland, but slightly less awesome than an office located in the depths of a Volcano.)

Mohan Custom Tailors in New York have created suits which incorporate a specific pocket fitted perfectly to hold an iPad, thus confirming the assumption that Apple is officially dominating the world’s technology, our minds, and now our clothes.

Now, why it’s absolutely necessary for someone to hold their iPad that close to them at all times, I am unable to say. I’m assuming that, while carrying a case for the glorified iPhone would work just as well, people who own the iPad are eager to whip it out at any moment, to show it to the world and declare their superiority for possessing such a piece of technology.

Oh how the fashion world is evolving. Soon we’ll all be wearing Iron Man-like robot suits, mark my words.

Playoffs are an exciting period of time for all hockey fans out there (at least for those whose team hasn’t already been eliminated). Luckily for all the Canadiens fans, our favorite Montreal team is doing far better than anyone could have expected. Following the Boston Bruins loss in game seven to the Philadelphia Flyers, the next series is set for the Habs. We’ll be going head-to-head with Philly on Sunday in the first-ever NHL conference final between seventh and eighth seeds.

What will come of the next series? Will the Habs continue on their hot-streak and beat out Philadelphia? Or will the city of Montreal’s Stanley Cup dreams be squandered once again? Only time will tell. In the meantime, Luello is providing all fans out there the opportunity to support their respective teams (althought we highly recommend the Habs merch) with NHL paraphernalia provided by Original Retro Brand!

  • For those of us out there who watched Iron Man 2, and I’m assuming that’s the vast majority of us, you may have noticed a really nuts piece of technology featured in the film. I’m not talking about Iron Man’s suit, which has got a jet pack that allows him to fly around being bad-ass. And I’m not talking about the drone army of pseudo-Iron Mans that Mickey Rourke (who thoroughly terrifies me to begin with, and surprisingly managed to do this even more with his Russian accent as the villain in this movie) created to foil Iron Man. I’m also disregarding the fact that Tony Stark, the world’s resident debonair billionaire played by the wonderfully rehabilitated Robert Downey Jr., with some crazy holographic technologies managed to create a new element and throw virtual atoms around like nobody’s business. The piece of technology I’m referring to is the Kor Hydration Vessels that Tony Stark was seen drinking from all throughout the movie!

This product is relatively new on the scene and is essentially a glorified water bottle. However, with a sleek design and great press, being featured in the newest Iron Man film among other places, the Kor Hydration vessels are garnering lots of attention, even from everyone over here at Luello! In the movie, Tony Stark uses the vessel to drink the beverage he needs to keep him alive, since the Palladium in his suit is both keeping him alive, allowing him to be Iron Man, and killing him faster.

Here at Luello, we like to keep you all apprised of the newest and most exciting products out there. Our consensus: the Kor Hydration vessel is the craziest water bottle we’ve ever seen.

Everyone here at Luello is wishing all the mothers of the world a most marvelous Mother’s Day! In honor of this day, we’ve compiled a list of the most inspirational and awe-inspiring mothers in recent history.

    happy days

    Mrs Cunningham and Family!

Mrs Cunningham was the quintessential perfect 50s housewife and mom, but every now and then she would show her irreverent side and partake in some sexual innuendo with Fonzie. For being the mom who always gave great advice, always baked the best cookies and still managed to joke around with Fonzie, Potsie, Richie and the rest of the Happy Days gang, Mrs. Cunningham is one of our featured moms!

Heidi Klum in all her pregnant glory

Heidi Klum in all her pregnant glory

I cannot even count the number of times Heidi Klum has been pregnant in recent years. Apparently the correct number is three, but all I know is that this Victoria’s Secret model and Project Runway hostess is some kind of fertility goddess.

    Jane Jetson and Family!

    Jane Jetson and Family!

Also on our list is Jane Jetson: the mother of the future. She prepares the best inter-galactic lunches for her kids Judy and Elroy, and even puts up with all of George Jetson’s crazy antics. Taking care of a family in the future with hover-crafts, teleportation machines and all them new technologies is no easy feat, and this mom pulls it off with the greatest of futuristic style!

With that everyone here at Luello wishes the mothers of the world a wonderful mother’s day! Be sure to partake in our Mother’s Day promotion where you can receive 15% off all purchases of $100 or more!
